It is a fat soluble carotenoid produced by the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis.

It is used in different fields:​

  • Cosmetic as anti-aging: its effects contrasts agents (UV rays);

  • Livestock coloring: coloring (usually used for salmonids);

  • Nutraceutical as antioxidant: the main properties of  astaxanthin are to combat and inactivate free radicals.




It is used as a supplement to diet and also as complete food for its unique characteristics:

  • Excellent source of high biological value protein (> 60%);

  • It has a good aminoacidic profile, it can be a valuable aid to cover the needs of essential amino acids;

  • The lipidic content is about 7% by weight, it is rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), and also provides omega 3 fatty acids: alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and an omega-6 linoleic acid (LA) and arachidonic acid (AA);

  • It contains pigments that lead to benefits, such chlorophyll, phycocyanins, carotenes and xanthophylls

  • Spirulina also contains vitamins B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (nicotinamide), B6 ​​(pyridoxine), B9 (folic acid), vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin A and vitamin E;

  • It has a discreet content of minerals: potassium, calcium, chromium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, selenium, sodium, and zinc;

Spirulina is a dark green algae (derived from the strong presence of chlorophyll).


Chlorella is also rich in:

  • proteins (60%) contain all the essential amino acids;

  • source of fatty acids;

  • GABA;

  • folates;

  • Vitamin B12 and other 20 types of vitamins (including A, C, E, K, biotin, inositol, folic acid);

Chlorella is a green unicellular alga (deriving from the strong presence of chlorophyll).


It is a carotenoid produced by unicellular algae Dunaliella salina when it is under stress.

It can be used in several fields:

  • Food as a dye;

  • Cosmetic as photoprotective additive;
